Why Are the Poor More Religious? – TheHumanist.com

I am not saying I agree or disagree with this article. As a matter of fact I have delved into my love of Jesus for many many years now. I just found this article interesting and relates to my observation that compared to West coast people, I have observed that Midwesterners seem to " choose" to live the "hard life" when it is not necessary, have more churches per capita, are less accepting of diversity even in religion, socially and economically less advanced. As I became I'll, then had cancer, unable to work, loss my income I too turned to religion. Now I am wondering if I too am turning to religion as a numbing agent for "answers", promises of something for all of my suffering for that which we call life on earth. Some sort of 'justice' to explain why evil people seem to prevail in this world. Just an observation.
